Naples, FL Plastic Surgeons Highlight Benefits of Cellulaze® for Treating Cellulite
It should come as no surprise that there are dozens of different treatments designed to eliminate or reduce the appearance of cellulite, as roughly 90 percent of all women experience the skin dimpling effects of cellulite on their abdomens, thighs, and/or buttocks at some point in their lives. While diet and exercise may impede cellulite formation and help reduce the appearance of cellulite in some women, others fail to achieve any diet- or exercise-related cellulite control results at all. This is because weight gain and lack of exercise are not distinct causes, but rather just two out of numerous other factors that can cause cellulite. In fact, cellulite tends to resist many treatment options due to the varied and multi-faceted nature of its underlying causes.
The cosmetic surgeons at Naples Plastic Surgery consult with numerous southwest Florida-area clients who express frustration with at-home cellulite reduction efforts that fail to help them meet desired goals. We know the physiological causes of cellulite formation and know that there is no one specific cure-all treatment for it. Among the most common cellulite control and treatment options are:
- Diet and exercise
- Topical creams
- Injectables
- Massage
- Radiofrequency skin tightening
- Infrared light skin tightening
- Ultrasound skin tightening
- Subcision (micro-scalpeling)
- Liposuction
- Laser therapy
All of these treatments can prove effective, and many—such as liposuction and subcision—are combined for greater efficacy. But treatment results for all these options tend to vary widely, as does their duration.
Naples Plastic Surgery Finds Success with Cellulaze®
With this in mind, Naples Plastic Surgery has opted to focus its primary cellulite treatment efforts on the option that seems to provide among the most optimal, long-lasting results for the majority of women—laser therapy. In particular, Naples Plastic Surgery offers its patients Cellulaze®, which works by breaking down the tissues causing the formation of cellulite, tightening the overlaying skin, and by stimulating ongoing collagen formation.
FDA approved and backed by many years of clinical research, Cellulaze® has been deemed by many in the plastic surgery profession as the go-to cellulite treatment for those women who fail to secure success with other treatments. Unlike many other cellulite treatments, one session is usually enough to produce noticeable results that can continue to improve over the succeeding four to 12 months. Additionally, with proper diet and exercise, these results tend to last longer than most other available treatments. Given such positive results, Naples Plastic Surgery considers Cellulaze® its primary treatment option for most clients seeking to reduce and control cellulite.
Cellulaze® Cuts Tissues That Create Dimpling
Cellulaze® works by cutting fibrous bands underlying the skin that pulls it down to create the cottage cheese-like dimpling. Laser energy is delivered by a tiny fiber inserted under the skin through a small incision. The laser heat severs fibrous bands that pull at the skin and destroys some of the adjacent fat. Some of the liquified fat and tissue is gently pressed out of the incision sites. The reduction of fat and fibrous bands provides immediate improvements to skin texture and elasticity and encourages longer term collagen production at the site for continued skin texture improvement.
Cellulaze® treatment is performed on an out-patient basis with local anesthesia and considered minimally invasive. The procedure may cause some light bruising, but patients typically return to normal activities within a day or two.
