JUVÉDERM® is a family of hyaluronic acid gels, not a single product. Each one has a different consistency, which is what lets your surgeon match the filler to the area being treated. A gel firm enough to rebuild a jawline would look wrong in a lip, and vice versa.

Restylane®️ Injectable Fillers
Restylane® is the other major hyaluronic acid filler family we use, and in practice the choice between Restylane® and JUVÉDERM® comes down to feel. Restylane® gels are built on a slightly different cross-linking technology, which gives them a firmer, more structured hold. For some patients and some areas, that’s exactly right.
Once injected, Restylane® integrates into the dermal tissue and attracts and binds to water molecules, which is how it maintains volume over time. The body then metabolizes it gradually, leaving no residue behind. Results are visible almost immediately and typically last up to six months, depending on the product used and the area treated.
Restylane®️ Kysse
Built specifically for lips. Kysse adds soft, natural-looking volume while preserving the way your lips move when you talk and smile. Approved for patients 21 and older.
Restylane®️ Refyne
Formulated for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, with enough flexibility to handle the constant movement around the mouth. A good option for laugh lines that show when you’re animated but soften at rest.
Restylane®️ Defyne
The firmer counterpart to Refyne. Defyne addresses deeper, more established folds and is also used for chin enhancement and profile balance.
Restylane®️ Contour
Dedicated to cheek augmentation and the correction of midface contour deficiencies. Contour is designed to move with the face rather than sit rigidly on the bone, which matters in an area that shifts every time you smile.
Most patients experience some swelling, bruising, or redness after treatment, generally resolving within seven to ten days.
Am I a Good Candidate for Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are one of the most approachable cosmetic treatments available, with no incisions, no general anesthesia, and no real downtime. That said, the best results start with choosing the right patients for the right product. During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your facial anatomy, skin quality, and aesthetic goals to determine whether fillers are the right approach, or whether something else would serve you better.
You may be a good candidate for dermal fillers if you:
- Want to restore volume lost in the cheeks, temples, lips, or midface
- Are bothered by nasolabial folds, marionette lines, or fine lines around the mouth
- Would like fuller or better-defined lips without surgery

Fillers restore volume. They don’t remove significant skin laxity. Dermal Filler FAQs

Both are hyaluronic acid fillers, and both are FDA-approved. JUVÉDERM® gels tend to be smoother and softer, while Restylane® gels are slightly more granular and hold structure a bit more firmly. Your surgeon selects between them based on the area being treated and the result you want.
Most patients describe it as a brief pinch. Many JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® products contain lidocaine, and we apply topical numbing before treatment. For patients who get anxious about needles, Naples Plastic Surgery offers Pronox, a self-administered nitrous oxide option that wears off immediately.
