Chin Augmentation

• If you have a weak chin and wish to make it more proportional to the rest of your face.

Similarly to other facial procedures performed by Dr. Gardner, Dr. Walsh, and Dr. Bonett, the necessary anesthetic is administered and a small incision is made in the location where the augmentation will take place. A small pocket is created and the implant or augmentation is carefully set in place, then the area is closed and sutured.

The recovery period for this procedure can vary slightly, and Dr. Gardner, Dr. Walsh, or Dr. Bonett will discuss with you how long you should wait before returning to normal daily activities. Following the surgery, you will receive detailed information regarding post-surgical care. Immediately following your procedure, you will experience some amount of bruising and swelling along with a low to medium amount of discomfort lasting no more than a few days. You can apply a cold compress to reduce swelling in the area.

Your chin augmentation should be permanent, although it will be just as susceptible to physical damage as organic tissue. It is always important to follow-up with your surgeon after any plastic surgery procedure to promote and ensure the healthiest outcome.
