Hi, Dr. Gardner again talking about options for treating the neck. A lot of patients have issues with fat in the neck, loose skin, crepiness, and jowls forming along the jawline. A neck lift surgery is an excellent option for them. I talked about my neck lift surgery in another video, but what I’d like to address now are the non-surgical options for treating the neck.

Some patients have a little bit of fat; they don’t really need the skin tightened or the muscle tightened; they just need that fat addressed. There is a product on the market called Kybella, an injectable product that will dissolve fat.

CoolSculpting is another non-surgical option for treating fat in the neck. It freezes the fat, and over time, it dissolves and gets absorbed by the body. A little bit more invasive but can be done in the office under local anesthesia is liposuction. Another treatment option that can be done in the office under local anesthesia is a combination of liposuction for the fat and tightening the platysmal bands through an incision under the chin. These are mostly non-surgical options, a little bit of invasiveness, but can be done in the office under local anesthesia.
