Your Chin Augmentation Procedure

Similar to other facial procedures performed by Dr. Gardner, Dr. Walsh and Dr. Bonett, if an implant is being used the necessary anesthetic is administered prior to surgery, which begins with a small incision made inside the mouth or under the chin. A small pocket is created within the incision site and the implant or augmentation is suitably implanted. The incision is then closed and sutured.

Recovering from Chin Augmentation

Your surgeon, Dr. Gardner, Dr. Walsh, or Dr. Bonett, will discuss appropriate timing for you to return to your regular daily activities. You will receive detailed information regarding post-surgical care following the surgery. Immediately following your procedure, you will experience some amount of bruising and swelling along with modest discomfort lasting no more than a few days. You can apply a cold compress to reduce swelling in the area.

Your chin augmentation should be permanent. It is always important to follow-up with your surgeon after plastic surgery in order to promote the healthiest outcome.
